Why use OUR FAVOURITE Business Directory?
Through GDSourcing you can now access the industry leading business databases compiled by InfoUSA & InfoCANADA. These databases capture detailed information on the majority of businesses in the United States and Canada.
These are the databases GDSourcing uses most often when conducting research for our clients and prospecting for new sales. From past experience, we are confident in the contact information as well as the employee and sales estimate data. They provide us with otherwise hidden details about our competitors and market.
InfoUSA employs over 600 full time people to compile and update these databases from thousands of public sources such as yellow pages, white pages, newspapers, incorporation records, real estate deed transfers and various other sources.
Over 20 million phone calls are made each year to verify the name of the owner or key executive, their address and number of employees among other information.
The databases are continually updated and change by roughly 65% per year. Over $50 million is spent annually to ensure the most accurate information possible. They are considered the finest and most accurate databases in the industry.

The Best Search Strategy
We use these databases all the time when we are assisting our research clients. Here is a search tip we have learned:
While you can search by "line of business heading" your best search strategy is to search by SIC code (Standard Industry Classification). The databases are organized by the US SIC (After all InfoUSA is an American company!).
First find the basic codes most appropriate to your needs. The easiest way is to use the following site which includes definitions of each code:
US Department of Labour
(A new window will open so you do not lose you spot here or within the database)
Now match these codes with the enhanced InfoUSA code list and locate your detailed 6-digit code.

ANOTHER TIP: If you enter all your search criteria and get the following error message:
We're sorry we were unable to complete your request at this time.
Please click your browser's "Back" button and try again.
Simply adjust your search criteria and search again. What this error message means is that database cannot find a match for your search parameters.
You have likely crossed too many variables for the database to locate viable results or you have selected a detailed industry classification that is not available in the specific geographical area you are searching on.
You can see the effect of dropping and changing select variables by using the links in
the "Change Criteria" yellow box found on the "Review Selections" page.
